EY.

Our Society’s mission is to enlighten students and stimulate their interest and understanding on all aspects of the emerging markets and their increasing prominence on the global stage. Why? Because globalisation is shaping our world. EY has long thought of globalisation as one of the defining issues of our time, a clear reason as to why our successful partnership was expected to arise.

The emergence of new markets means that countries are becoming increasingly connected, and EY is committed to creating a better working world. The motto of EY can be said to be ‘When business works better, the world works better.’ Without trust in an emerging market it cannot develop beyond its initial conception. Confidence in new businesses and greater collaboration is key, an issue that we will explore in great depth during the Forum, Panel Debates and Distinguished Lecture Series.

Departmental Sponsors

Warwick Law School.

The School of Law at the University of Warwick was founded in 1969 and has since established itself as one of the leading Law Schools in the UK. Its teaching is distinctive in that there is a focus on treating the law as an integrated part of society; examining how economic, cultural and political change can impact on the law, and how this affects people.

Thus, the School of Law has supported us because the positive role commerce plays in the development of the law is often forgotten, with focus based almost exclusively on human rights and foreign aid issues.  However, the subtle interdependency between an emerging market and its legal system is of paramount importance. The absence of a strong rule-of-law culture can be a major shock to new international investors who are accustomed to the highly constrained world of law, and speakers will go into further depth on this issue.

Warwick PAIS Department.

The Politics and International Studies Department at the University of Warwick is a hub of international excellence in teaching and research, with its research quality being consistently received to high ratings. Their dedication to stretching a student’s understanding, whilst supporting them along their academic journey means that there is a huge range of topics within Politics that student can explore, such as how political theory affects an Emerging Market.

Their support demonstrates an extension of their commitment to widening a student’s understanding of a range of investment, business, legal, economic, financial, political, social, and development issues facing these countries. Through bringing together distinguished speakers and engaging students in stimulating debates about the challenges facing economies and the capital markets, we will be reflecting on the latest developments in theory and practice- challenging you to think critically.

We are dedicated to delivering quality and we want to use our reach towards building a greater understanding of Emerging Markets in students. This is our purpose - it is why we exist.
